Granola is such a good add on to some of our favorite snack foods to give it that extra crunch. We most commonly like to add it to yogurt, oatmeal, or sprinkle on our protein shakes! There are so many granolas on the market, so how do you know which one to choose? I typically tell my clients to make their own because you can control the ingredients, especially the sugar content. However, making your own takes time and I am always looking for a quick grab and go from the grocery store.
So, this week on Trending On The Trax Foodie addition, I wanted to explore the granolas. I wanted to find one that was low in sugar and had some good “clusters” to it. I’ll get right to the point.. I nailed it. This granola was one of the best granolas I have ever tasted. In fact so good, I might be giving my first 5 out of 5 rating ever! Introducing Effi Chickpea granola. It is so Effi good!! ;)
Oh my goodness. It is literally so good. The perfect ratio of oats, to nuts, sweet and salty all packed into little clusters. They have a few flavors, but I definitely have to say the Wholesome Raspberry is the best. It certainly satisfies the sweet and salty craving. It is so good, you can eat it by itself. However, it is even better in plain yogurt as well as sprinkled on top of a rice cake with peanut butter. I even will put a serving in a bowl and add my Core Power Protein drink as milk. That combination is the bomb.com. Overall, taste gets a huge 5 out of 5!!
The nutrition of this product is one of the best I have seen for a plant based granola that does not add protein powder to it. There is 10 grams net carbs, 4 grams sugar and 4 grams protein giving it a 1:2 ratio of protein to carbs. For a granola, that is phenomenal. Not to mention all of its ingredients are made with wholesome ingredients such as chickpeas, sunflowers, raspberries, oats and Baobab which apparently is a medicinal fruit grown in the Middle East. The sodium is a whopping 55 grams which is fantastic. They also seem to be able to keep the calories lower than most, (probably due to the chickpeas) which makes it a great topping to other foods. A great snack would be a cup of plain yogurt with 1/3 cup of this granola to give it that extra protein and bringing it closer to the 1:1 macro ratio. Overall, I give the nutrition a 5 out of 5 rating. Until I find another granola that tastes good with this wholesome ingredients and nutrition, it stands at number one on my charts!
So I am assuming that this is a local or smaller company because I have only been able to find it at Wegmans and online. Each bag is $6.99 and definitely not out of the budget for a granola purchase, especially one with top notch ingredients. Overall, I give the pricing a 5 out of 5 and here is why.. it definitely comes with a good amount in the bag. The reason why it could become pricey for me is I cant control myself from eating the whole bag so I go through them quick…but that’s not their problem, its mine!
Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it, even for the pickiest granola eaters. This is the first product I am giving the full 5 out of 5 rating to, so you know it must be pretty good! You can find this granola and their other products on their website: effifoods.com
